2011 Open Studios Tour


The Helena Public Art Committee (HPAC) hosted its third annual Open Studios Tour of working artist studios in the Helena area from on September 10, 2011. The Tour gave the public a wonderful opportunity to visit 24 artists at work in their studios, allowing the viewer to learn more about the creative process of art. 

Artists demonstrated their work as they created jewelry, beads, fiber arts, painting, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, gourds, doll-making, basket-making, metal work, graphic design, and architecture. 

Ticket purchasers were eligible for a special prize drawing.  This year's prizes and winners were:

Cathedral print from Jim Stevens - Fred and Celeste Pfister
Montana Star Quilts book from Linda Parker - Theresa Meek
Gift certificate from Linda Parker - Leslie Smith
One-year general memberships to the Holter Museum - Jill Larson
Oval serving dish from Jim Gilman - Lucy Morell-Gengler
Ukrainian egg from Jo Lee Hawkins - Barb Evilsizer

2010 OPEN STUDIOS TOUR


The Helena Public Art Committee (HPAC) hosted its second annual Open Studios Tour of working artist studios in the Helena area on September 11, 2010. 

Tour participants visited more than 20 artists as they worked in their studios to create jewelry, beads, fiber arts, painting, pen and ink, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, gourds, prints, graphic design, and architecture. This year's featured artists included Bonnie Lambert, Ken Saunders, Al Swanson, Sandy Shull, Tim Holmes, Dave Carlson, George McCauley, Andrea Atwood, Linda Parker, Bob and Judi Bennett, Margot Wright, Eric Van Eimeren, Jim Howard, Robin Maynard, Helena Printmakers Guild, Signs Now and Dowling Sandholm Architecture. The Archie Bray Foundation, Clay Arts Guild, Holter Museum, and the Upper Missouri Artists Gallery were also be part of the tour.

2009 OPEN STUDIOS TOUR


The Helena Public Art Committee (HPAC) hosted its first Open Studios Tour of working artist studios in the Helena area on September 12, 2009. 

Tour participants visited artists as they worked in their studios to create jewelry, prints, painting, ceramics, and pottery. The 2009 Tour featured artists included the Helena Printmakers Guild, Bonnie Lambert,  Emily Free Wilson, Chip Clawson and Dale Livezey.  The Clay Arts Guild and the Holter Museum of Art were also be part of the tour.
